Recently played - does nothing

    Even if iTunes is open, if I select a recently played track from the drop down menu nothing happens - it neither starts playing (if nothing was playing before) nor changes track. What should I do?

    It's OK quitting iTunes, but when I put the computer to sleep it stops working.
